To celebrate the launch of the Nintendo Switch on March 3rd, the moderation team of the /r/NintendoSwitch subreddit is hosting a charity event!
We'll have boots on the ground at Nintendo NYC to update you on the festivites there. We will be reviewing the Nintendo Switch hardware, first party accessories, and third party accessories. No stream would be complete without some gameplay, so we'll be streaming gameplay from many of the Nintendo Switch's launch titles. Still not enough? We'll also be hosting giveaways and reading off messages from our donors!
Child's Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff, we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids.
Child's Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.
Extra Life is an organization that encourages gamers to do what they do best to help sick and injured children at their chosen hospital. Partners simply sign up, play games, and any donations collected go towards the Children's Miracle Network hospital of their choice.
